To represent Waynesville High School, student athletes must satisfy all the OHSAA requirements, the WHS requirements and the Swimming & Diving requirements prior to participation. OHSAA requirements can be found at http://www.ohsaa.org/eligibility/EligibilityGuideHS.pdf

Academics:

This is the most important requirement. All student athletes must maintain a C or better average in an individual subject at ALL times during the season. Grades are checked weekly.

1. Grade falls to a C average

  1. Coach will confirm Progressbook grade is current
  2. Coach will discuss the situation with the athlete for awareness and to provide assistance if needed.

2. Grade continues at a C average or falls

  1. Coach will discuss the situation with the parents, teacher and athlete to ensure everything is under control and no assistance is needed.

3. Grade falls to a D average or below, the athlete will not be able to participate in any activities until the average is back to a C or above. Athlete will be required to attend all practices, meets and any other activities unless tutoring needs to be conducted during these times.

Physicals:

A completed physical form stating doctor approval is required before any student is permitted to participate in any swimming or diving activity. This includes any voluntary participation in open dry land or swim times.

Insurance:

All students must have insurance to participate in athletics. This is listed in writing on the physical form. School insurance is available for purchase through the office.

Emergency Medical: 

Emergency contact information is required before any student is permitted to participate in any swimming or diving activity.This includes any voluntary participation in open dry land or swim times.

Uniforms:

Each athlete will be issued a team uniform as well as training equipment. Once issued, uniforms and equipment become the responsibility of the athlete. Athletes are responsible for purchasing their own team suit, practice suit, and goggles. Team swim suits are required. These will be available for purchase at the beginning of the season. Team suits are to be worn ONLY at meets.

Code of Conduct:

Athletes are expected to abide by all state, school, and team policies and regulations. Prior to participation ALL athletes and parents must sign one copy of the agreement and keep one copy.
